DAVAO CITY– In a roaring display of school spirit and tactical precision, the interns from the Rizal Memorial Colleges, Inc. (RMC) – College of Teacher Education (CTE) emerged as the Champion of the Bench Yell Competition during the Association of Region XI Teacher Education Institutions (ARTEI), Inc. 2nd Students’ Summit held on April 29, 2026. Outperforming 12 participating schools from across the region, the RMC delegation’s victory was a powerful validation of the resilience shown by future educators who refused to buckle under an intense academic season. For their stellar performance, the team was honored with a Certificate of Recognition and a cash prize of 10,000 pesos.
Their journey to this success was paved with grueling late-night rehearsals that often stretched into the evening, held immediately after the interns completed their daily teaching duties. The team balanced this performance prep with high-pressure milestones, including their internship culminating activities, the fulfillment of all graduation requirements, and intensive daily reviews for their recent Mock Board Examinations.
Under the creative vision of choreographer Mr. Joseph Blasabas, whose execution nailed the event, the interns delivered a routine characterized by sharp transitions and thunderous vocal projection. The Bench Yell became a platform where RMC’s future educators displayed a deep sense of identity and pride as Rizalians, resonating with judges through their synchronized movements and dynamic energy.
This milestone was made possible through the steadfast leadership of Dr. Agnes P. Mascariñas, Dean of the CTE, and the instrumental mentoring of Prof. Antonio A. Solomon Jr., whose dedication as Intern Supervisor inspired the students throughout their journey. As one intern noted, these mentors reminded them that a great teacher is also a great leader, proving they could handle the pressure of both the classroom and the stage.
RMC extends its heartfelt congratulations to the students and the entire CTE community for bringing honor to the institution. This victory is a true reflection of the core values of excellence, unity, and service.
Pro Deo et Patria!
