In line with its commitment to academic excellence and continuous quality improvement, Rizal Memorial Colleges, Inc. (RMC) successfully conducted the Preliminary Briefing and Orientation on the Revised ACSCU-ACI Self Survey Instrument per Section on July 16, 2026, at the La Liga Hall, RMC IBED Canteen. The activity served as a significant institutional initiative in preparation for the upcoming ACSCU-ACI Re-Survey Visit for the Business Administration, Criminology, Liberal Arts, and Teacher Education (BEEd and BSEd) programs, as well as the Formal Survey Visit for the Psychology Program.
The program officially commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, the Davao City Hymn, and an audiovisual presentation that set the tone for the afternoon’s orientation. Faculty members, administrators, academic leaders, and institutional personnel gathered to reaffirm their shared commitment to quality assurance and accreditation excellence.
The opening program was graced by Dr. Alminda M. Fernandez, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who delivered the Opening Remarks. In her message, she underscored the importance of accreditation as a continuing institutional commitment to maintaining academic standards, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring that Rizal Memorial Colleges remains responsive to the evolving demands of higher education.
An Inspirational Message was delivered by Mr. Lorenzo Raphael L. Magno, Vice President for Administration and Finance, who encouraged the entire Rizalian community to approach accreditation not merely as an evaluation process but as a collaborative opportunity to strengthen institutional systems, cultivate innovation, and sustain a culture of accountability and excellence.
One of the highlights of the program was the Overview of Accreditation, presented by Dr. Evangeline P. Yap, Professor in Teacher Education and a distinguished ACSCU-ACI Accreditor. Dr. Yap provided participants with a comprehensive discussion on the philosophy, objectives, standards, and significance of accreditation, emphasizing its role in promoting continuous institutional development, quality assurance, and educational excellence. She also discussed the revised 2026 ACSCU-ACI Self Survey Instrument, providing valuable guidance on institutional preparedness and compliance with current accreditation expectations.
The orientation continued with the Accreditation Process and Presentation of the Summary of Enhancements to the 2026 Accreditation Instruments per Section, featuring presentations from the institution’s academic leaders.
Dr. Annbeth B. Calla, Dean of the Liberal Arts and Psychology Programs and ACSCU-ACI Accreditor, discussed the enhancements in the areas of Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives and Outcomes (VMGOO), Faculty, and Instruction, emphasizing the importance of aligning institutional practices with outcomes-based education and quality academic delivery.
Meanwhile, Dr. Agnes P. Mascariรฑas, Dean of the Teacher Education Program, presented the revisions and improvements concerning the Library, Laboratory, and Physical Plant and Facilities, highlighting the vital role of learning resources and institutional infrastructure in supporting student success and instructional effectiveness.
Completing the series of presentations, Dr. Janine S. Betonio, Dean of the Business Administration Program, discussed the updated standards for Student Personnel Services, Social Orientation and Community Involvement, and Organization and Administration, emphasizing student development, community engagement, sound governance, and effective institutional management as key pillars of quality education.
The activity concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by Dr. Evelyn A. Magno, School President, who expressed her appreciation to the administrators, deans, faculty members, support personnel, and accreditation teams for their dedication and active participation. In her message, she emphasized that accreditation is a shared institutional responsibility that reflects the college’s pursuit of excellence, integrity, innovation, and service. She encouraged every member of the Rizalian community to continue working collaboratively, embracing continuous improvement, and upholding the institution’s mission of providing transformative education.
