The Rizal Memorial Colleges, Inc. is set to open its newest satellite branch in Tagum City. The said 6-hectare campus in Mankilam Street, Capitol Drive, Tagum City held its groundbreaking ceremony last December 18, 2018 led by the Chairman of the Board and COO Leo Tereso A. Magno with special guests, the former Davao del Norte Governor, Mr. Rodolfo Del Rosario Sr. and his son Mr. Rodolfo ”Raffy” Del Rosario Jr., together with the school’s board members, Atty. Ernesto Raphael V. Robillo, Lorenzo Raphael L. Magno, Iñigo B. Taojo, Mr. Noe B. Taojo and his wife, Mrs. Caroline Taojo and family. The event was also attested by the Deans and other Department heads of the RMC Main in Davao City.
The Rizal Memorial Colleges main campus was officially incorporated and duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 5, 1948. RMC was formed by a group of young men, mostly alumni of colleges and universities in Metro Manila. The first Board of Trustees was composed of Leopoldo M. Abellera, chairman and first RMC President, Ireneo D. Benavidez, secretary, Jose M. Shotwell, treasurer, and other members, Vicente Casiño, Roque Yulo, and Antonio Buenaventura. Atty. Leopoldo M. Abellera, later became a Court of Appeal Justice and chair of the Land Transportation Office. From 504 students in its operation in 1948 to almost 8,000 students in the present and counting.
Guided by the dreams of our National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal to make available widespread educational opportunities to all, Rizal Memorial Colleges continues to make concrete steps in developing students into becoming competent and productive members of society and in promoting the government’s program of nation-building. With this, the RMC has extended its doors to the community. As a matter of fact, we have a branch in Palayan City. With the aim of the institution to produce globally competitive graduates, they have finally opened its doors to our Tagumeños!
The new campus in Tagum will soon offer Basic Education Programs and Collegiate Programs with the same vision of producing “cream of the crop” graduates who are God-fearing, professionally competent, service-oriented and peace-loving whose lives will be anchored on the principles of our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
On August 04, 2021, COO Leo Tereso Abellera Magno together with the Vice President for Administration, Atty. Ernesto Raphael V. Robillo of The Rizal Memorial Colleges, Inc. had a courtesy visit at the office of Mayor Allan L. Rellon in Tagum City with the City Planning and Development Coordinator, Enp. Arturo B. Manigo, Jr.
