Yesterday, the 163rd birthday of Dr. Jose Rizal was commemorated at his statue in the Integrated Basic Education Department (IBED). The event began at 3:00 PM with an opening message from Dr. Nelia Aga, Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs Meanwhile, Ms. Cherel Omeles, a CAS faculty member, and Mr. Alden Torreon, the SSG President, delivered inspirational messages honoring Dr. Rizal’s legacy. Additionally, Deans, SSG members, and College SAMAFIL club members led the wreath-laying ceremony. The special event concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Tina Ariate, a CAS faculty member, who delivered the speech of Dr. Annbeth Calla, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and shared valuable insights about Rizal’s life.
